Wanna feel 'The Magic of Christmas?' Here's how

Is it too early for Christmas music and Christmas cheer? At The Music Studio, the time is just right to get in the holiday spirit and on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 3 and 4, students hope the community will help them kick-off the holiday season.

Students of the 35-year-old music school on Central Avenue in Colonie will join the Albany Symphony Orchestra for its holiday concert, "The Magic of Christmas," at the Palace Theatre in Albany. This is the sixth year Music Studio musicians have lent their talents to the orchestra's holiday concert and preparing for the big shows is no easy feat.

Kids spent around 60 hours rehearing in class, plus clock practice hours at home and additional rehearsals with David Alan Miller, director of the orchestra, a few days prior to the performance.

The show is family friendly, with performances of traditional tunes and a few surprises.

The Saturday show is at 7:30 p.m. and the Sunday show is at 3 p.m.
